Agree, why do Asians are always rude to their own race?
whenever I go to the supermarket I always get this crap service from Asian staff even I am being nice to them.
the funny thing is, they are trying to hard to please other races especially caucasians. I dont understand. why Asians have to treat their own race that way?

I used to work with chinese people and they would NEVER offer to say ‘hello’ to me. It was ALWAYS me that had to say it. Otherwise they would just walk past me as I didn’t exist. In the end I just didn’t bother and kept to myself. To hell with them.

Ummm… I disagree. Why limiting yourself to only visit ‘polite’ country? Heck… going to some ‘rude’ countries is the best adventure ever. Just make sure to leave your expectancy at the lowest and go with the flow.

There lies the misunderstanding problem. Like David said: “To them it is normal”. To some Asians (let’s say group A), it’s normal to not hold the door for somebody else. It’s normal to just grab the Frappucino and walk away without saying thank you. Other culture who’s taught the other way around (let’s say group B), would label A rude when they don’t do so while living in B’s country.

David, that is true. When a white person made a negative comment about an Asian, not necessarily something racist -let’s say it’s something about bad hair do- the Asian person would still think the white person is being racist. And like you said… it’s just like Black and White thing.

I am Indonesian. Even when I was still living in Indonesia for the first 28 years of my life, I experienced some rudeness from my fellow Indonesians and Chinese, as Chinese is also a big population in my country.
Sorry about your bad experience with your Asian friends, sounded so horrible. It’s so weird that your Asian friends were acting like they’re the minority and almost like a bully by calling you names etc. You are talking about Junior High in the US, right?

when westerners go to Japan, they would find out that Japanese are polite as them , or even more politer than westerners.

I think that westerners should go to Japan , not other asian countries such as China, Korea, India and south east asian countries.It is because Japanese are much more polite and nicely than Chinese, Korean, south east Asian and indian.

In Chinese , Korean and south east asian culture, Asians don’t say please, sorry and thank you. It is because it is their cultural thing.

In Japanese culture, Japanese are very polite. They always say please , sorry and thank you.It is similar as in the west. They also say sorry to bring trouble to someone. They also say I hope other people can forgive me.

It is a cultural thing. In Japanese culture, people tend to be polite. In Chinese or south east asian culture, people tend to be rude. It is their pattern. To them it is normal.
